Carla Anderson
Carla grew up on a farm in Benson County and graduated from Warwick High School in 1988. She attended college at UND-Lake Region and received an Associate of Arts Degree in Accounting in 1990. She then attended Carlson College of Massage Therapy in Anamosa, IA and graduated in 1996 with her degree in Massage Science. Carla started her massage profession in Devils Lake working for a salon/spa and later starting her own business called Healthwise Massage Therapy in 1998. Carla and her family moved to Bismarck in 2010 where she continued to massage. In 2011, Healthwise Massage Therapy joined Southridge Chiropractic as a sole proprietor.
Carla is an active member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and has served on the AMTA-North Dakota Chapter Board of Directors since 1998, currently serving as President since 2014. Carla has received several awards for her volunteerism to the Massage Therapy profession including the coveted ND Meritorious Award in 2004 and 2013.
Carla extended her massage therapy training by becoming certified in Neuromuscular Massage Therapy by Paul St. John in 2002 and also becoming certified in the ACE Cupping Technique in 2012. She has taken many different classes over the last 20 years adding several modalities to her basket of tools such as myofascial, stone massage, bamboo massage, oncology massage, essential oils, and several other types of medical massage. Carla has developed her own technique of Therapeutic Massage taking a little from each continuing educational course she took in order to create a tailored therapeutic massage treatment for each client.
Carla see's patients from infant to geriatric for specific problematic issues. At our clinic, we also offer pregnancy massage with a special table, so the mother to be can lay face down comfortably.
Carla is a firm believer in the alternative practices of chiropractic and massage together and wants the public to know how important both are for living a long and active life with less stress and restriction on your muscles and bones.
